Rebels' Captains Honor Team in All-Star Game

Eddie Pyskaty, Brandon Hodes represent Howell in the Shore Conference Senior All-Star game.

WALL — Eddie Pyskaty scored once and Brandon Hodes also contributed to the Shore Conference senior B/C all-star team in a 7-2 loss to the A/D squad on Sunday evening at Gold Coast Arena in Wall.

In a wrap-up of their high school careers, both seniors saw significant ice time —much like their regular seasons with Howell — to cap off another successful season for the Howell ice hockey program.

The Rebels finished with a record of 17-8-1, their third winning season after opening the program in 2007.

Pyskaty and Hodes played major roles since they joined the team as sophomores. Pyskaty, a natural forward, played on defense for his first two years as Howell needed more depth defensively.

Over those two years, Pyskaty was among the top defensemen in the state in scoring.

In December of this season, he eclipsed the 100-point mark for his career.

Hodes has been a steady center for Howell all three years.

Hodes was a late-game replacement for forward Mike Liero, who missed the game with an injury.
