Register Now for 5K Through Beautiful Rural Howell

The 5th Annual Howell Township Education Foundation 5K Race to Educate is just around the corner! The Race will be held on Saturday, May 17th at Howell Township Middle School South, located at 220 Ramtown Greenville Road, Howell.   Opening ceremonies begin at 8:45 am with a School Mascot Race and a visit from Buster, the Lakewood Blue Claws mascot.  The first 400 racers/walkers will receive a "goodie" bag and T-shirt. Bagels, water and Sabrett hotdogs will also be available for the racers.   This race has been growing every year. "It is inspiring to see so many runners including parents, students and teachers come together for a day of fitness and fun in support of Howell Township youth,” said Larry Gurman, Chairperson of the Howell Township Education Foundation.    The event will include a 5K race/walk on a great course for the runners/walkers to enjoy. Traffic and race safety for the event will be provided by the Howell Township Police Department. There will also will be a DJ, radio station, food and drinks, and more. Prize money will be awarded for overall Male and Female first, second and third place finishers.   The Howell Township Education Foundation has continued a individual school challenge for the 2014 “Race to Educate 5K Race/Walk”.  The "Golden Sneaker Scepter" Award and a discretionary grant worth $1,000 will be presented to the Howell Township School that provides the highest percentage of race participants, based on school enrollment.  All runners and walkers will be asked to indicate if they are affiliated with one of the 12 schools in the district.  Staff members, students, and/or family members of children in a particular school are recognized as having an affiliation with that school and should note it on their registration form.    Pre-Registration for this event is $20.00 if postmarked before May 1st. After that date registration will be $25.00.  The first 400 people registered will receive a free T-shirt. Runners registering on race day cannot be guaranteed T-shirt sizes. Pre-registrants can pick up their bib, race shirt and bag on Friday, May 16, 2017 from 6  to 7 pm at Howell Middle School South, located at 220 Ramtown-Greenville Road. On Thursday, May 15th, Capricci's will donate 15% of your pretax bill to the Howell Township Education Foundation for pick up orders, and will donate 20% of your pretax bill for dine in orders anytime on May 15th, 16th and 17th. You do not need to participate  the Race/Walk to take advantage of this HTEF Fundraiser.
