Road, Utility Work Will Snarl Traffic In Howell
The township is updating residents on projects that will disrupt or slow traffic on some roads in Howell.
HOWELL, NJ — The township is updating residents on one bridge project that is almost completed and two major projects coming up that will affect traffic flow on roadways. Here are the details, according to the township:
Newtons Corner Road
The township is scheduled to mill and repave Newtons Corner Road from Lakewood Allenwood Road to Herbertsville Road this fall, as soon as Monday. The contractor (Meco, Inc.) anticipates starting construction on Monday, Oct. 3.

The initial work includes installing concrete curbing and sidewalk south of Sarah Lane along with additional drainage and curbing at the Easy Street intersection.
This work is scheduled for two weeks, Monday through Friday 7 a.m.to 5 p.m. Milling and paving is scheduled for three days the first week in November. Lane shifts and detours will be required for this work.

Aldrich Road West
NJ Natural Gas has already started a gas main replacement project on Aldrich Road from Route 9 to the Jackson border. The work is scheduled for six months, Monday through Friday 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Night work will be required within the Route 9 right-of-way.
The majority of the work will be located within the Aldrich Road westbound shoulder and utilize lane shifts to maintain two-way traffic, but certain work will require alternating traffic.
The contractor does not anticipate the need for a traffic detour. This work is being completed prior to the Township repaving this section of Aldrich Road in summer 2023.
Lanes Pond Road
Monmouth County anticipates the bridge replacement project to be completed and the roadway reopened to traffic by the end of October.
