Gas Main Hit By Contractor In Howell Repaired
New Jersey Natural Gas officials said the natural gas main has been repaired.

HOWELL, NJ — A natural gas main that was damaged early Tuesday has been repaired, New Jersey Natural Gas officials said Tuesday night.
The gas main, along Route 33 in Howell, was hit by a contractor installing a water main along the highway, said Michael Kinney, director of corporate communication for New Jersey Natural Gas.
Kinney said the 2-inch gas service main was damaged. Howell Township police called New Jersey Natural Gas at 12:36 a.m. and crews were on the scene by 12:51 a.m.

The broken main was made safe at 3:23 a.m., Kinney said, and service was turned off to three customers while the main was repaired.
Route 33 was closed between Colts Neck Road and Tinton Falls Road while the repairs were made, and Kinney said they had since been completed, and service restored.
