HOWELL, NJ — Route 9 northbound in Howell Township is closed Tuesday night while authorities investigate an incident where a pedestrian was hit by a vehicle, township police said. Howell police said the pedestrian was taken to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune with life-threatening injuries. Route 9 north is closed at Lanes Mill Road. Howell police said the pedestrian was taken to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune with life-threatening injuries. Route 9 north is closed at Lanes Mill Road. It was not known how long the road would be closed.
