Sephora Location Inside Howell Kohl’s To Open In 2021

HOWELL, NJ - Beauty connoisseurs and makeup addicts, rejoice: the Howell Kohl’s on Route 9 will be getting a makeover by Fall 2021.

In partnership with department store giant Kohl’s, high-end beauty retailer Sephora aims to create an “immersive beauty experience by Fall 2021 titled “Beauty at Kohl’s” with 850 Sephora stores inside Kohl's stores by 2023. The collaboration’s first 200 stores were announced Thursday.

“The Kohl's and Sephora partnership will bring a transformational, elevated beauty experience to Kohl's from the top global name in beauty,” said Michelle Gass, Kohl’s CEO, in a statement. “This new collaboration is an excellent example of two customer-centric, purpose-driven companies leveraging each other’s strengths to make aspirational beauty far more accessible to millions of customers all across the country.”

Each site will be located in a 2,500 square foot space prominently placed at the front of the store featuring an inventory of makeup, hair, skincare and fragrance products.

Kohl’s also plans to begin selling Sephora products on its online store this fall. The shops will be staffed by Sephora-trained Beauty Advisors.

Current Sephora stores inside JCPenney locations will phase out as their leases run out.

Kohl’s locations in 29 states will see the new partnership come to life, with 22 sites in New York and 20 sites in California alone. The department store touts over than 1,150 locations across the country, while Sephora has over 2,700 locations in 35 countries.

11 “Beauty at Kohl’s” locations have been announced in New Jersey, including locations in North Plainfield, Hillsborough and Hamilton.
