Snapped Utility Pole Shuts Route 33 In Howell
Police say there were no vehicles involved in the incident but wires are down and detours are in place.

HOWELL, NJ — A utility pole that snapped in half and brought down wires is causing traffic delays Tuesday morning on Route 33 in Howell.
Howell police said the pole split in half and wires are down blocking both lanes. Detours are in place as the road is closed from Colts Neck Road to Tinton Falls Road.
There were no vehicles involved in the incident, police said.

"Even though crews are working hard to open the roadway, delays are expected to last the next few hours," police said.
