Stop & Shop Brings Online Grocery Ordering To Howell

HOWELL, NJ — If grocery shopping is one of those tasks you despise, Stop & Shop in Howell is now offering a service to make the chore a little less annoying: same-day online pickup.

Peapod by Stop & Shop has launched at the Howell store at 4861 Route 9. Through Peapod, you can order your groceries online and pick them up at the store in as little as four hours, store officials said in an announcement.

"The new offering provides local customers with a faster and more convenient way to shop," store officials said. Place the order, and when it's ready, head to the store and have a Stop & Shop employee load the groceries right into the car.

"We’re excited to offer our customers the convenience of shopping online for all their favorite items they can find at our store – and now, they can pick-up their orders in just a few hours," Tony Algozzini, the store manager, said. "We know our customers are busy, and we hope this innovation helps make things easier for them."

To use the new service, customers can visit www.peapod.com and select "Pick-up" at 4861 US Highway 9 in Howell. Customers then head to the store at their chosen pick-up time, park in a designated Pick-Up spot, then call a phone number to let the store team know they have arrived. Stop & Shop’s Howell team members will then deliver their order right to their car.

New customers can receive the service free for 90 days by entering SSFREEPICKUP at checkout.

There is a minimum purchase required and the online pick-up fee will be waived on first order and on all subsequent orders of $30 or more if placed within 90 days of first order. Valid for first-time residential customers only in select zip codes. The offer excludes alcoholic beverages, gift cards, postage stamps and any other purchases prohibited by law. Offer not transferable. Limit 1 per household. Enter code at first order checkout. Not valid with any other offer. Expires 12/31/2019.
