Summer In A Small Town Comes To Farmingdale
The "small town" in the midst of Howell will have its second farmers market Saturday, combined with traditional summer festivities.

FARMINGDALE, NJ — If a taste of summer tradition is what you seek, consider Summer in a Small Town in Farmingdale on Saturday.
The picturesque downtown will be the scene of a farmers' market and vendor fair from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., at 63 Main St., at Connie's Restaurant, which is allowing their property to be used.
There is a pie-baking contest, with prizes will be given out for Best Crust and Most Beautiful Pie. There is even a category for kid-made pies, said Amanda Levers of the Recreation Commission, which is hosting the event. Registrants must be Farmingdale residents, however, she said.

There will be a live band and the old-time feel will be recalled with traditional lawn games, such as a ring toss, she said. There are tickets to purchase for the games.
There will also be vendors on hand.
Part of the proceeds from the event will be donated to the Veterans Hospital in Hamilton, according to the flyer for the program. Veterans will be at the event at a donation table, Levers said.
