Two crashes, one dead in same NJ town on Wednesday.

Two crashes closed a New Jersey highway twice on Wednesday, and one person was killed.

A tanker crash closed Routes 33/34 overnight, police said.

Route 33/34 was closed in both directions at Tinton Falls Road in Howell Thursday night because of a collision involving a tanker and pickup with down utility lines, police said.

The closure was expected to last several hours as the scene was cleaned and repaired.

Meanwhile, a New Jersey man was killed in a motorcycle crash in Howell on Wednesday, police said.

James J Florek, 35, of Freehold was killed while operating his motorcycle on Route 33 in Howell, according to the Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office.

He was pronounced dead soon after the crash happened near Fairfield Road around 6:40 a.m., Howell police said.

The road was closed briefly, police said.
