Water Main Repair Under Way Near Route 9 In Howell
Don't use outdoor water today, New Jersey American says, while repair is made. No sprinklers, no car washing.

HOWELL, NJ — Howell residents have been asked to avoid outside water usage Sunday while New Jersey American Water crews make emergency repairs on a water main in the vicinity of Casino Drive and Route 9.
The company tweeted that it was investigating a low water pressure issue late Saturday night, then posted on its Facebook page about 6:30 a.m. Sunday that repairs were under way.
"Due to the extreme hot and dry weather expected today, we are requesting that impacted customers refrain from all outdoor water use until 8 p.m.," the post on the New Jersey American Water Facebook page said.

"During the repairs, those customers may experience lower than normal pressure. When service is fully restored, they may experience cloudy and/or discolored water. If the water is discolored, run the cold water only at the lowest level of the house for about three to five minutes until it’s clear before using."
