Jefferson Students Head Back To School Next Week

The first bell of the 2026-27 school year is almost here as Jefferson Township students prepare to return Wednesday, Sept. 2.

JEFFERSON, NJ — Backpacks are getting packed and summer break is winding down for Jefferson Township students, who head back to the classroom Wednesday, August 2, for the first day of the 2026-27 school year.

After just three days of classes, students will get a long weekend. All district schools will be closed Monday, Sept. 7, for Labor Day.

Families have also had time to prepare. The district's Realtime Parent Portal opened earlier this month on August 14, while suggested school supply information was released for White Rock, Stanlick, Briggs and Jefferson Township Intermediate School.

Families at Jefferson Township Intermediate School can also mark Wednesday, September 16, on their calendars for Back-to-School Night.

At Jefferson Township High School, freshmen attended orientation last week and have another chance to get familiar with the building during a self-guided walk-through this Thursday.

"As we prepare to welcome our students back next month, our administration has been working hard to ensure a seamless start to the 2026-2027 school year," Superintendent Scot Burkholder said.

"The countdown to the new school year is on!" the district said in welcoming its incoming freshmen. "Let's make it a great year."
