Victim ID'd As 33-Year-Old Man In Triple Shooting In Jersey City

UPDATE: A 33-year-old man has died and two have been injured in a shooting in Jersey City Saturday.

JERSEY CITY, NJ — The victim in a triple shooting in Jersey City early Saturday morning has been identified as a 33-year-old Jersey City man, the Hudson County Prosecutor's Office said Saturday.

Christoph Terrero Marte was pronounced dead at 7:35 a.m., prosecutors said. A Union City man, 28, and another Jersey City man, 31, were treated for non-life-threatening injuries, they said.

The office of Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez released the following information:

Just before 6:30 a.m., the Jersey City Police Department was notified of shots fired on Jordan Avenue. Responding officers located a crime scene on Jordan Avenue between Mercer Street and Vroom Street.

Three male victims were taken by private vehicles to Jersey City Medical Center. That's where Marte was pronounced dead.

Prosecutors did not say if they were seeking suspects or release a motive for the shooting.

The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Unit and the Jersey City Police Department are investigating and no arrests have been made.
