2 Men Charged With Murder In Shooting Death Of Newark Man In Jersey City: Prosecutor

The same intersection in Jersey City has been the site of four reported shootings this year so far, one local publication noted this week.

HUDSON COUNTY, NJ — A Jersey City man and a North Plainfield teen were charged with murder on Monday in connection with the shooting death of a Newark man in Jersey City last month.

Prosecutors said that Kyle Howard, 34, was found shot at the corner of Forrest Street and Martin Luther King Drive in the city's Bergen-Lafayette section around 11:15 p..m. on Sunday, June 12.

On Monday, Quadre Domnie, 21, of Jersey City, and Jekhi Wade, 19, of North Plainfield, were arrested and charged with murder, conspiracy to commit murder, unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and receiving stolen property, said the office of Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez.

Both were arrested without incident in the evening hours of Monday, July 25, 2022 in the area of Cator Avenue and Rose Avenue in Jersey City, prosecutors said.

Domnie and Wade are being held at the Hudson County Correctional Facility pending their first court appearances, the office said.

The Jersey City Times noted that there have been four shootings reported at that intersection this year so far, with one in May resulting in the death of a 32-year-old man.
