2 NJ Men Sexually Assaulted 3 Girls At Instagram Meet-Up: Officials

JERSEY CITY, NJ — Two Jersey City men have been arrested for sexually assaulting three underage girls, according to prosecutors.

Desmar Rivers, 27, and Jaquan Robinson, 19, face a slew of sex and weapon-related charges following an investigation, police say.

The investigation launched after the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office’s Special Victims Unit was notified by Jersey City Medical Center of three minors being sexually assaulted.

Investigators say that the three victims planned a meet-up with an unspecified man through Instagram at an apartment on Bergen Avenue.

On July 3, that man organized transportation for the three girls to get to the apartment, where they were sexually assaulted, officials say.

A court-ordered search of the Bergen Avenue apartment uncovered a handgun, hollow point bullets, and a large-capacity magazine.

Rivers and Robinson are both charged with sexual assault, endangering the welfare of a child, possession of a prohibited device (hollow point bullets), possession of a prohibited device (large-capacity magazine), and unlawful possession of a weapon.

Rivers is also charged with certain persons not to possess a weapon.

The pair is being held in the Hudson County Correctional Facility while awaiting court proceedings.
