5 Years For Teen Who Accidentally Shot Best Friend In Jersey City

Jacob Pommerehn, 19, accidentally shot his best friend in the head in Jersey City, a report says.

JERSEY CITY, NJ — A Jersey City teen was sentenced to five years in prison for accidentally shooting his best friend in the head last year, nj.com reported.

Jacob Pommerehn, 19, pleaded guilty to the reckless manslaughter of his best friend, 17-year-old Anthony Rios. Pommerehn shot Rios in the head while the two friends were playing with guns in a parking lot on Sept. 12, 2016.

Pommerehn has no previous criminal record and cried through the sentencing hearing and appeared remorseful, the paper said.
