Emily Matos ’26 Reaches Historic 150 Career Hits Milestone at Saint Dominic Academy

The senior standout reached the milestone as part of an extraordinary four-year varsity career defined by consistency, power, and offensive dominance. Through 92 career games, Matos has compiled 158 career hits, 173 RBIs, 134 runs scored, 48 doubles, 25 triples, and 12 home runs while maintaining one of the most productive offensive resumes in the state.

Matos’ achievement places her in rare company at both the state and national levels. Reaching 150 career hits in high school softball is widely recognized as a benchmark reserved for elite multi-year varsity athletes. Averaging more than 1.7 hits per game across her career, Matos has consistently produced at an elite rate against New Jersey competition — one of the nation’s most competitive high school softball landscapes.

Her senior campaign has elevated her profile even further. During the 2026 season, Matos is batting an astounding .576 with a 1.121 slugging percentage and 1.748 OPS, while totaling 38 hits, 44 RBIs, 36 runs scored, 13 doubles, 4 triples, and 5 home runs through just 20 games.

Among New Jersey statistical leaders, Matos ranks near the top in multiple offensive categories, including batting average, slugging percentage, OPS, and RBIs. Her combination of contact hitting, extra-base power, and run production has made her one of the most dangerous hitters in the state.

“Congratulations Emily on reaching a major milestone of 150 hits in your softball career,” said Head Coach, Marty Murray. “This achievement is one that very few players will ever reach.Your dedication, leadership, and achievements to the SDA program over your 4 years will be extremely hard for any future players to match.”

Beyond the numbers, Matos has helped continue Saint Dominic Academy’s proud athletic tradition while serving as a leader and role model within the program. A three-sport athlete competing in softball, basketball, and volleyball, she has distinguished herself as one of the school’s premier scholar-athletes.

As her senior season continues, Matos adds yet another chapter to an already historic career — one that places her among the standout softball players to wear the Saint Dominic Academy uniform. For more information about Saint Dominic Academy athletics, visit www.stdominicacad.com.
