JERSEY CITY, NJ — Two people have been apprehended and a third is still at large in connection with a double fatal shooting in Jersey City last week, prosecutors said.
On May 18, police found Kenneth Darby, 52, and Luis Quintero, 53, of Jersey City unresponsive inside a home at 109-111 Old Bergen Road, prosecutors said. The pair were taken early in the morning to Jersey City Medical Center, where they were pronounced dead.
Last week, prosecutors said Treshawn Daniels, 18, of Jersey City had been charged with first-degree murder, attempted murder, and weapons offenses. He was still at large, prosecutors said.
On Wednesday, prosecutors said they had made two arrests in connection with the deaths.
The two suspects were already detained in the Hudson County jail on unrelated matters when they were arrested in connection with the shooting, prosecutors said.
Jahquan Porter, 25, of Jersey City, was charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault, terroristic threats, and weapons offenses, prosecutors said.
Angelica Manning, 23, of Bayonne, was charged with attempted murder (as an accomplice), aggravated assault, and weapons offenses.
Prosecutors said Wednesday that the investigation determined that Jahquan Porter stabbed Darby, one of the victims, during an argument. Then, according to prosecutors, Daniels — the teen who's at large — shot both victims.
Prosecutors are still looking for tips to find Daniels. Anyone with information is urged to contact the Office of the Hudson County Prosecutor at 201-915-1345 or to leave an anonymous tip at hcpo.org/tips. All information will be kept confidential.
