HUDSON COUNTY, NJ — Bayonne's Board of Education will have counseling services available this week after what they said was the sudden loss of a student.
"It is with a heavy heart that we report the sudden passing of 9th-grade Bayonne High School student, Jounir Badawy, over the weekend," the district posted.
"The loss of someone so young is an unimaginable tragedy for our entire community. Please review the letter from Superintendent Niesz which includes details on available school counseling services, support for the family's funeral costs via GoFundMe, and wake arrangements for tomorrow evening."
A GoFundMe for funeral costs is here.
"Our deepest thoughts and prayers are with Jounir’s family and friends," the district wrote.
