Flash Floods, Thunderstorms Possible For Hudson County Monday: See Timing, Map

Another round of heavy rain is in the forecast for North Jersey on Monday. A hazardous weather outlook warns of flash floods.

HUDSON COUNTY, NJ — Up to 1.25 inches of rain are in the forecast for Hudson County on Sunday night into Monday, with storms likely after 8 p.m. Sunday.

A hazardous weather outlook for the county says, "There is a chance for isolated flash flooding Monday into Monday night."

The chance of flooding is highest at high tide, but the tides will be lower this week than last week, when there was a full moon.

High tide on the Hudson River in Hoboken and downtown Jersey City on Monday is expected at 12:31 p.m. In Secaucus, on the Hackensack River, it'll arrive around 1:02 p.m.

Flooding closed roads and caused damage throughout North Jersey from Monday night into Tuesday, resulting in dramatic photos such as these in the nearby town of Hawthorne:

Hudson County received as much as 1.94 inches of rain during the storms on Tuesday, said the National Weather Service, with Secaucus receiving the most. Hoboken received about an inch, the NWS says.

Passaic County got as much as 5.4 inches.
