Speakers pushed to protect right-to-counsel housing funds and limit police increases, while council members warned the state-mandated hike could still force some neighbors from their homes before amendments are finalized next week.
3. Unfinished Empty Sky 9/11 Memorial in Jersey City draws renewed criticism (abc7ny.com) — Jersey City's Empty Sky 9/11 Memorial in Liberty State Park is drawing renewed criticism from victims' families, who say the site remains unfinished and poorly maintained nearly 15 years after its dedication.
