Teaneck Serves Up 5 Tasty Weekend Picks

From Shabbat takeout to late-night pizza and Sunday deli fare, Teaneck has plenty on the menu this weekend.

TEANECK, NJ — If figuring out where to eat is already becoming the weekend's toughest decision, Teaneck has five appetizing answers.

Friday starts at Sababa Grill, 456 Cedar Lane, where the regular menu steps aside for Shabbat takeout. Pickup continues through 3 p.m., with selections that may include brisket, Moroccan chicken, schnitzel, salmon, kugel, salads and sides. The restaurant calls it "finger-licking-good Shabbat food," though the menu changes weekly.

For a sit-down dinner, BV Tuscany, 368 Cedar Lane, serves Tuscan-inspired fare Friday and Saturday from 5 to 10 p.m. and Sunday 4 to 8 p.m. Homemade fettuccine with mushrooms and truffle oil, squid-ink pasta with rock shrimp and rack of lamb offer a few ways to make dinner feel like an occasion.

Night owls can visit La Cucina Di Nava, 461 Cedar Lane, from 9 p.m. Saturday until 12:30 a.m. Its seasonal watermelon salad mixes arugula, feta, mint and balsamic glaze, while pizza, pasta and risotto cover heartier cravings. Sunday hours begin at 11:30 a.m and end at 9:45 p.m.

The Humble Toast, 1383 Queen Anne Road, serves kosher meat meals under Rabbinical Council of Bergen County supervision. Closed Friday and Saturday, it reopens Sunday with modern Jewish deli dishes, burgers and house-smoked pastrami and corned beef.

For crispy weekend comfort, Peck Peck Chicken, 250 DeGraw Avenue, serves Korean fried chicken Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Order early: The restaurant advises it may sell out before closing.

Whether the craving calls for Shabbat favorites, Italian comfort food or crispy Korean chicken, Teaneck has plenty to put on the weekend menu.
