JERSEY CITY, NJ — A 58-year-old pedestrian died early Thursday after being struck by a vehicle in Jersey City, officials said.
Glenn Minasian, 58, was struck around 5 a.m. on Routes 1 and 9 near Duncan Avenue, said the Hudson County Prosecutor's Office.
He was taken to Jersey City Medical Center with serious injuries, and pronounced dead, officials said.
The car that struck him remained on the scene, officials said.
The Hudson County Regional Collision Investigation Unit and the Jersey City Police Department are still investigating.
Routes 1 and 9 northbound between Communipaw Avenue and Duncan Avenue will be closed to traffic on Sunday from 3 a.m. until around 7 a.m. for the investigation, prosecutors said.
Drivers are encouraged to find alternate routes.
