JERSEY CITY, NJ — Diaper costs pile up when parents are taking care of young children, but the diaper maker Luvs is going to help out this weekend.
The company will build an "interactive billboard" out of diaper packs, then invite local families to take it apart, one free box at a time, while supplies last.
Once the diapers are removed, the message will say, "Leak protection shouldn't be a luxury."
The promotion will also include other giveaways and family friendly activities.
The company said the activation will also call attention to the fact that 40 percent of U.S. households with kids under 4 experience diaper insecurity.
While cloth diapers were used decades ago, there are drawbacks, including time and money spent on laundry.
The event will take place from noon to 6 p.m. Saturday at Mary McLeod Bethune Park, 143 Martin Luther King Drive.
