Protestors have been critical of various actions and policies of the federal government, from the war in Iran to affordability to American citizens being accidentally deported or shot.

Nationally, the November races are expected to affect who is seated in Congress and how they vote in relation to the policies of Pres. Donald Trump.

Events Around North Jersey

The No Kings: Vote Early events in Teaneck and surrounding Bergen County towns will be held from 1-3 p.m. on Saturday.

"For more than a year, millions of people have come together to reject the idea that power belongs to kings, billionaires, or politicians who believe they are above the people and the law," organizers said. "Unlike previous No Kings actions, No Kings: Vote Early, is not purely a protest. Instead, on Oct. 16-17 ,it is 2 days of nonpartisan voter participation: we are bringing our community together to make a plan to vote early and ensuring every eligible voter understands their options."

More information on the Bergen County protests is here.

Hudson County

Events and rallies are happening in Hudson County, including in Hoboken and Weehawken.

Hoboken will hold a "Long Live the Vote/No Kings" event Saturday from 5-6 p.m. at the Community Church at 600 Garden St., with Songs of Freedom and a Get Out The Vote celebration.

It will feature music and art "to fuel the language of protests," organizers said.

Before that, organizers will hold a North Hudson Resistance rally from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Hamilton Park on the waterfront, near the JFK Boulevard East and Hudson Place, Weehawken. Double check the times before heading over.
