JERSEY CITY, NJ — Congressional incumbent Rep. Rob Menendez Jr. is facing three challengers on Tuesday to keep representing New Jersey's 8th District in Congress. The district includes much of Hudson County (including Jersey City) and parts of Newark and Elizabeth.
Jersey City residents can also vote Tuesday in a heated school board election, and in county races.
In the school board race, three incumbents are on a slate with a fourth candidate for a one-year term, and are being challenged by two other tickets. The year has seen heated debate over school issues, particularly after a mother of a special needs child was arrested at a board meeting.

Menendez, a Democrat who run the primary in June, faces no Republican opponents on the ballot this time around.
He does face candidates Craig Honts from the Socialist Workers Party, Da'Shone Hughey from the We The People Party, and independent Aristotle Eliopoulos.
The winner will serve a two-year term.
