Babo Tea House Restaurant Closes After 20 Years In Jersey City's Newport Section

A popular cafe near the Jersey City waterfront announced Wednesday that it had closed. "We held out as long as we could," they said.

JERSEY CITY, NJ — A popular spot for ramen, tea, and rice dishes in Jersey City's Newport section announced Wednesday night that it had closed for good, thanking their customers for nearly 20 years in business.

"We held out as long as we could," Babo Tea House wrote. "Thank you for letting us serve you for the past 20 years!!!"

"My entire middle school and teenage self just crumbled," wrote one fan.

The eatery had announced a slew of new drinks in August, including Malaysian Coffee, iced banana latte, and mango milk tea.

The spot was located at 10 River Drive South, Jersey City, near the PATH station and waterfront.
