Baby Delivered On NJ Turnpike With The Help Of State Trooper
The baby's birth certificate reportedly lists mile marker 113.3 as his birthplace.
JERSEY CITY, NJ — A Jersey City family has just gotten bigger after a baby boy was born on the side of the New Jersey Turnpike.
On July 2, around 12:45 p.m., police were called to the eastern spur, milepost 113.3, in Secaucus on reports of a woman in labor.
A New Jersey State Police officer, who NJ.com identified as Freddie Guacamaya, arrived at the scene and assisted in the delivery of a baby on the side of the road, officials said.

Following the birth, the mother and son were both taken to a nearby hospital when EMS arrived, police said.
NJ.com identified the family as Alex and Kristen Fast, of Jersey City, who just welcomed baby Archer William Fast into the world.

The outlet added that the mother and son are healthy, and that State Trooper Guacamaya has stayed in contact with the family and plans to meet Archer soon.
