Mayor Ravi Bhalla, The City of Hoboken & Geri Fallo present a special concert with performances by Freedy Johnston, and Karyn Kuhl & the Gang, in Sinatra Park, 525 Sinatra Drive, Hoboken, NJ. The concert is free. Arrive early for best seating. 
Freedy
will be playing with an incredible band featuring Paul Moschella (drums), Jared Michael Nickerson (bass), and Dave Schramm (guitar). Karyn Kuhl and the Gang (features Karyn Kuhl, her long-time rhythm section of drummer Jonpaul Pantozzi and bassist Lou Ciarlo, guitarist/producer Charlie Nieland (Debbie Harry, Rufus Wainright) and Billy Loos on percussion.

Freedy Johnston’s sophomore album, Can You Fly, which was described upon its 1992 release as “a perfect album” by The Village Voice, will be available again for the first time in 25 years. It has been remastered for CD and vinyl. People Magazine described it as, “an extraordinary second album, one of the most tuneful, propulsive and penetrating of this or any year.” It will be available for sale at the concert.

Karyn Kuhl
first received national acclaim for her early bands Gut Bank and Sexpod, growing out of the vibrant Hoboken music scene and the legendary club Maxwell's. (“Gut Bank’s The Dark Ages is one exceptional debut album.” —Robert Palmer, New York Times). These days, she performs both as a solo act, and as the lead for Karyn Kuhl & The Gang. Kuhl is currently in the studio with a new single to be released in the fall.

Jack Silbert
