The Italian Compass: A Journey Across the Peninsula
Pack your palate and join us on Thursday, May 28th at 6:30 PM for an expedition through the soul of Italy. This is a curated journey from the rugged, green heart of the mainland to the sun-drenched shores of the Mediterranean islands. Italy is a mosaic of ancient soils and hidden valleys, and we’ve mapped out a route that captures the country's incredible diversity.
Guided by our resident explorer and wine expert, Tracey, we will navigate the distinct landscapes that define "The Boot." Our trek begins in the misty, landlocked hills of Umbria before scaling the prestigious heights of Tuscany’s Montalcino. From there, we’ll head south to the salt-aired plains of Puglia’s coast and finally cross the water to the volcanic frontier of Sicily to discover the vibrant energy of island viticulture.
Tracey will share the stories behind these native grapes and the geological wonders that make each sip a true "sense of place." Whether you’re a seasoned traveler of the vine or just getting your passport stamped for the first time, this is an evening of discovery, great company, and the kind of conversation that only happens over a shared bottle.
We are going to feature these four wines:
1. Arnaldo-Caprai Grecante Grechetto from Umbria
2. Castello Monaci Primitivo Salento Pilùna from Puglia
3. Feudo Montoni Vigna Lagnusa Nero d'Avola from Sicily
4. Verbena Brunello di Montalcino from Tuscany
