Christmas Shooting In Jersey City Claims Life Of Man, 46
A man was shot to death in Jersey City's Bergen-Lafayette section on Christmas Day 2022.
JERSEY CITY, NJ — A Jersey City man was shot to death in the city's Bergen-Lafayette section on Christmas night, the Hudson County Prosecutor's Office said Monday.
Prosecutors said that at approximately 6:04 p.m., the Jersey City Police Department was notified of a shooting in the area of Communipaw Avenue and Crescent Avenue. Khaliq Lockett, 46, of Jersey City had an apparent gunshot wound to the torso, prosecutors said.
He was taken to Jersey City Medical Center where he was pronounced dead at 7:51 p.m., prosecutors said.

No arrests have been made.
NJ.com reported that the death was the 13th homicide in Jersey City in 2022, down from 23 last year. There were 19 homicides in Hudson County so far this year.

The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Unit and the Jersey City Police Department are investigating this case.
