Cream, the new cannabis dispensary in Downtown Jersey City, will celebrate its grand opening on Friday, May 31 with a ribbon cutting ceremony. Jersey City Mayor Steven Fulop will be on hand to cut the ribbon, along with local officials, signifying the city government’s support and endorsement of the retailer.

“Mayor Steven Fulop's participation demonstrates his dedication to fostering economic growth and development within the city and his recognition of Cream as a valuable addition to the local community,” says AJ Prasaguet, one of the co-founders of Cream. The other partners are Heinrich Badenhorst and Nicole and John Caracciola.

According to the partners, the retailer will emphasize education and customer engagement at its store. “We will sell a large selection of premium cannabis flower products and edibles but in a modern and edgy environment that is intended to reflect the vibrant and diverse culture of Jersey City,” Mr. Badenhorst explains.

On one day, customers might find an educational workshop taking place in the back conference room; the next day there might a DJ spinning records in the middle of the store. Customers will be encouraged to mingle or chill and Cream’s clerks, playfully referred to as “The Budtenders,” will be there to answer customer questions.

“The benefits of cannabis are profound,” continues Mr. Prasaguet. “It has been shown to ease pain, sharpen focus, improve endurance and even enhance workout routines.” Mr. Prasaguet’s own cannabis journey began after a serious snowboarding accident when doctors predicted an 18-month recovery. With the help of cannabis, he rebounded in ninety days.

Cannabis is not without its risks, however. “The potency can vary widely depending on factors like the strain, growing conditions, and processing methods,” Mr. Badenhorst notes. “It’s important to know what you’re taking.”

That’s where The Budtenders come in. They’re not just super friendly people. Says Mr. Badenhorst, “they’re making sure all who are flying high on the creamy clouds of smoke at Cream are dosing the fine strains properly and safely.”

Featured strains at Cream will include Sativa cannabis, a favorite among those looking for an energetic and uplifting high. It is known to heighten senses, pique appetites, and may help those with depression or ADHD by reducing pain, reducing inflammation, and enhancing focus. It is available in Green Crack, Jack Herer, and Sour Diesel; each contains its own special set of effects and flavors.

Another option at Cream, especially for those looking to unwind and relieve pain and discomfort, will be the Indica cannabis, known for its sedative effects; a popular choice for those suffering with insomnia.

Cream will also distribute Cannabis extracts that can be consumed through vaping, dabbing, or adding to food or drinks.

Cream is located at 284 1st Street, Jersey City, NJ 07302. Visit cream.online.
