Double Shooting In Jersey City Leaves 1 Critically Injured, Police Say

JERSEY CITY, NJ — Two people were injured, one critically, in a late-night shooting in Jersey City on Easter Sunday, officials said.

A bystander flagged down police just after 10:30 p.m. near Cottage Street and JFK Blvd. to report gunshots, said a city spokesperson.

Police determined that the shots were fired near Duffield Avenue, said city spokesman Nathaniel Styer.

Two victims were found with gunshot wounds, Styer confirmed. One is in critical condition and the other is expected to survive, he said.

Police are investigating, he said. No further details were available.
