East Orange Man Pleads Guilty In Killing Of Jersey City Mom Of 4
The man who killed a Jersey City mom faces 20 years in prison when he is sentenced in fall, the Hudson County prosecutor said.
JERSEY CITY, NJ — An East Orange man pleaded guilty on Tuesday in connection with the death of Aieshia McFadden, 36, in Jersey City in 2020, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez's office said Wednesday.
Fundraisers for McFadden in 2020 described her as a mother of four kids ages 8-20, noting that funds were needed "to raise money for her four children, including her eldest daughter who will raise her siblings."
McFadden was shot outside 217-219 Martin Luther King Drive on Dec. 4, 2020, with one of her daughters present, reports said.

The state will be recommending a sentence of 20 years in New Jersey State Prison, subject to the No Early Release Act, said the Prosecutor's Office.
Sentencing is scheduled before Judge Vincent J. Militello, J.S.C. on Friday, Oct. 21.
In NJ.com in 2020, Colin DeVries wrote the city needed to provide more of a response to the violence.
"Aieshia cannot be brought back and the community is grieving," he wrote. "Gun violence is a regular problem in this city, but this incident was different. This was a woman, who worked at a local high school, simply going to the store on a Friday night and winding up dead."
