Enovate CEO to Receive 2019 NJIT Alumni Achievement Award
Áine O'Dwyer, a resident of Jersey City, is the CEO and majority-owner of Cranford-based Enovate Engineering, LLC.
On June 1, 2019, Áine O’Dwyer ’08, ’08 M.S. will receive a 2019 NJIT Alumni Achievement Award. The awards ceremony is scheduled to take place during Alumni Weekend.
A resident of Jersey City, New Jersey, O’Dwyer is the CEO and majority-owner of Cranford-based Enovate Engineering, LLC. Enovate performs construction management, safety engineering services and has a research and technology division to address solutions that don’t currently exist for problems seen in the field and experienced by the firm.
Born in Clonmel, Tipperary, Ireland, O’Dwyer began her NJIT career in 2004. As a student, she played soccer and basketball while earning both a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in Civil Engineering in 2008. After graduation, she joined Conti Engineering, ultimately becoming vice president of Worldwide Engineering.

Following her successful career at Conti, she joined Enovate, rising from field engineer to her current role as CEO. She certified the firm as a Women’s Business Enterprise and Small Business Enterprise. During her tenure, the firm has worked on the $2 billion Anaklia (Republic of Georgia) Deep Sea Port and the Petty’s Island Environmental Rehabilitation in Camden County, N.J.
She is a registered professional Engineer in New York, New Jersey, Michigan and Delaware and is actively involved with the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), Professional Women in Construction (PWC), New York Building Congress and American Council of Engineering Companies of NY (ACEC-NY). She is a member of NJIT’s Women in STEAM advisory council, and was named as one of Engineering News Record’s (ENR) New York Top Young Professionals, and named to the National Top 20 Under 40, both in 2018.

Each year, the NJIT Alumni Association honors alumni who have achieved success professionally while also giving generously of their time and talents to the community and to their alma mater. O’Dwyer is one of five NJIT alumni to be honored this year. The others are:

- Michael Donnelly MMBA ’02, Senior Vice President, Digital Experiences at Mastercard
- Philip L. Rinaldi ’68,’77 M.S., founding partner, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Philadelphia Energy Solutions LLC
- Samir Saini ’97, Commissioner of the Department of Information Technology and Telecommunications and Citywide Chief Information Officer
In addition, Junmin (Jim) Shi, Ph.D., Associate Professor in the Martin Tuchman School of Management, was selected by NJIT alumni to receive the 2019 Robert W. Van Houten Award for Teaching Excellence. The Van Houten Award reflects the highest level of success in leading students to knowledge and understanding.
Alumni Weekend is an annual event celebrating all things NJIT. As many as 300 alumni will visit the University Heights campus for reunions, campus tours, receptions, a dinner dance, and a special address by President Joel S. Bloom.
