Fatal Crash In Jersey City After Possible Police Chase
The car may have hit several cars before hitting a pedestrian. The crash apparently happened at the end of a police chase.

UPDATE: The pedestrian fatally struck by a vehicle in Jersey City early Tuesday has been identified as a male in his 30s, according to the Hudson County Prosecutor's Office. Roads in the area have been reopened. An apparent police chase was involved.
ORIGINAL STORY: One person was killed Tuesday morning in a crash on a New Jersey highway that's causing massive delays in the area, according to authorities. The crash was apparently the end result of a police chase.
A pedestrian was struck by vehicle in the area of Communipaw Avenue and John F. Kennedy Boulevard before 7 a.m., and a police investigation continues, according to the Hudson County Prosecutor's Office.

"This is horrible," Jersey City Mayor Steve Fulop said in a tweet. "Initial information is that ot was a car pursuit by the County Sheriff’s Department. It is now being handled the Hudson County Prosecutor's Office."
Numerous intersections in the area are closed, and Kennedy Boulevard was closed from Lexington to Communipaw avenues, authorities said.

An SUV apparently struck multiple parked cars before hitting the pedestrian, CBS2 reported. It is not clear yet if the person who was driving that vehicle stayed on scene.
511nj.com and News12 are reporting that there are massive delays in the area of Kennedy Boulevard, which serves as an alternative access point to the Lincoln Tunnel. We'll have more information as it comes in.
