The Flow Initiative to Debut Candle Line at Love Locked in Jersey City
The La Déité candle line will help address period poverty and provide menstrual products to those in need across Hudson County.

The Flow Initiative - a local organization dedicated to eradicating period poverty and accelerating access to menstrual health products - will launch its La Déité candle line at Love Locked in Jersey City this Friday, January 20. La Déité is a new candle line developed by Eiko La Boria, Founder of The Flow Initiative. The launch event will take place from 4pm to 8pm ET, where shoppers will be introduced to La Déité and receive a special discount to purchase the candles in-store.
"As a woman-owned and operated business we are honored to collaborate with The Flow Initiative. I love that they are committed to improving the lives of women especially here at home in our supportive community," said Kerry Lynn, CEO of Love Locked. At their location, Love Locked offers jewelry, apothecary, and home goods that are unique, high quality, and one-of-a-kind. They carry over 90 artists from around the country that they love and respect, and La Déité is the latest line to launch at their location.
La Déité (French for deity) sits at the intersection of purpose-driven luxury, sustainability and craftsmanship which results in high quality candles and scents. Inspired by mythological goddesses, La Déité takes you on a journey of self-love, soul-care, confidence and beauty through each fragrance.
"La Déité is the next extension of The Flow Initiative's mission to help women, girls and people who menstruate. Each candle represents a Greek goddess, encouraging shoppers to tap into their inner Aphrodite , Artemis or Psyche, and harness their inner magic, energy and power, while simultaneously helping others" said La Boria. "Proceeds from the candles will also help The Flow Initiative provide more menstrual products, conduct more workshops, and usher in new legislation to achieve menstrual equity."

Arist and tattooist, Jasmine Dianne Romero created the unique goddess themed visuals on each candle and is a longtime supporter of The Flow Initiative's mission. "As my work is already inspired by goddesses, mythology, and ancient spiritual practice, crafting an aesthetic for a candle line about feminine deities was a perfect opportunity I couldn’t pass up," said Romero. "I'm proud to work with Eiko La Boria and look forward to seeing La Déité in homes across Jersey City and beyond."
Each candle is handcrafted with locally sourced materials for a long-lasting burn at home, work, or anywhere that brings people joy. Within each box there is also seed paper packaging allowing people to plant and sow wildflowers, within their home or nature. As a purpose-driven luxury brand, a portion of proceeds from La Déité will support The Flow Initiative's mission to end period poverty and achieve menstrual equity in New Jersey and across the U.S.
