Fugitive in Jersey City Killing Captured In South Carolina After 2 Years: Prosecutors
A man has been charged with murder in a fatal shooting in Jersey City that happened more than two years ago.
HUDSON COUNTY, NJ — A man wanted in connection with a 2021 fatal shooting in Jersey City has been captured in South Carolina and charged with murder, prosecutors said.
Tybear Miles, 28, was arrested by police and U.S. marshals on Thursday, said the Hudson County Prosecutor's Office.
On Saturday, June 5, 2021, at approximately 10:05 p.m., the Jersey City Police Department received a report of gunshots fired in the area of Stegman Street and Martin Luther King Drive, prosecutors said.

Police found Ahmad McPherson, 22, of Jersey City – with an apparent gunshot wound to his torso. He was taken by Emergency Medical Services to Jersey City Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at approximately 10:40 p.m.
Besides murder, Miles was also charged with possession of a weapon and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose.

He was arrested in Spartanburg, South Carolina, by the Spartanburg Police Department in coordination with the United States Marshals Service New York/New Jersey Regional Fugitive Task Force.
He is currently being detained at the Spartanburg County Detention Center as a Fugitive from Justice pending extradition to New Jersey.
