JERSEY CITY, NJ —The NJCU Center for the Arts has announced it will host a virtual program featuring Grammy-nominated blues artist Guy Davis performing his show "Routes of the Blues." The show is designed for the whole family.

The show will take place at 6:30 p.m. on Oct. 15, and feature music and stories from Davis, who has spent his life carrying the message of the blues around the world, from the Equator to the Artic, earning him the nickname "The Ambassador of the Blues."

In the show, Davis, who is the son of famed actors Ruby Dee and Ossie Davis, will talk about the history of the blues and demonstrate different styles, rhythms and story themes.

Like his famous parents, it's hard to classify Davis as just one thing. Rather, he's more of a Renaissance Man. In addition to being a musician, he has acted in films, TV and on Broadway, and been an author and music teacher.

Tickets to the virtual performance are $8 for an individual and $15 for a family or group. They are available online, and a link will be sent two hours prior to the show. Those wishing to purchase tickets with cash or check can contact the box office at boxoffice@njcu.edu.
