Jersey City Independent Candidates Virtual Town Hall Thursday

JERSEY CITY, NJ —The Lewis Spears for Mayor Campaign is reminding Jersey City voters that it will be hosting an Independent Candidates Town Hall on Thursday.

The event will take place from 8 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. and can be viewed on Facebook or YouTube Live.

Candidates will be discussing their platforms and taking questions from voters and the media. The election is Nov. 2, with early voting taking place October 23-31.

The independent candidates scheduled to appear at the virtual town hall are:

• Spears, an educator, who is running against two two-term Mayor Steve Fulop
• June Jones, president of Morris Canal Community Development Corporation, who is running for one of the three at-large city council seats.
• Elvin Dominici, a banker at J.P. Morgan Chase, who is running for one of the three at-large city council seats.
• Chris Gadsden, the principal at Lincoln High School and former Ward B councilman, who is running for one of the three at-large city council seats.
• Frank Gilmore, who runs the Educational Gilmore Community Learning Center, and is running for Ward F councilman against incumbent Jermaine Robinson and Vernon Richardson.
