Stepdad Charged With Sex Crime Against Stepdaughter, 9, in Jersey City
The 47-year-old man was charged with sexual assault for crimes that took place against his 9-year-old stepdaughter in 2021 and 2022.
JERSEY CITY, NJ —A Jersey City man, 47, was charged on Wednesday for sexually assaulting his 9-year-old stepdaughter, the Hudson County Prosecutor's Office said Thursday.
Prosecutor Esther Suarez's office said the crimes occurred in November of 2021 and March of 2022 inside of a Jersey City residence.
The man was charged with second degree sexual assault and with second degree endangering the welfare of a child.

The man's name is being withheld to protect the identity of the victim.
He was brought to the Hudson County Correctional Facility pending his first court appearance. The Prosecutor’s Office has filed a detention motion, scheduled to be held Tuesday.
