Man Arrested In Connection With Hit-And-Run Of Jersey City Woman: Prosecutor

A man has been charged in connection with a previously unsolved hit-and-run that left a woman with "serious" injuries in Jersey City in 2023

JERSEY CITY, NJ — A Hudson County man has been charged in connection with a hit-and-run of a pedestrian in Jersey City almost a year ago.

Rey Rosario, 66, of Bayonne, was charged Friday with third-degree endangering an injured victim and with third-degree knowingly leaving the scene of a motor vehicle collision resulting in serious bodily injury.

He was arrested on Monmouth Street in Jersey City and released pending his firstcourt appearance.

Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said that the Hudson County Regional Collision Investigation Unit arrested him "in connection with a hit-and-run crash that seriously injured a
pedestrian in Jersey City on Feb. 10, 2023."

Suarez's office said that on Feb. 10, 2023, at approximately 7:45 p.m., the Jersey City Police Department was notified of a pedestrian struck in the area of Communipaw Avenue and Kennedy Boulevard.

Police found a 39-year-old Jersey City woman with multiple injuries. The striking vehicle did not remain at the scene, prosecutors said.

The woman was taken by Emergency Medical Services to Jersey City Medical Center with serious injuries, they said.
