Man Charged With Sex Crime For Incident Involving Girl, 11, On Jersey City Street
A Jersey City man was charged on Wednesday with a sex crime against an 11-year-old girl he didn't know.
JERSEY CITY, NJ — A Jersey City man has been charged with sexual assault by contact in an incident that took place on Central Avenue involving an 11-year-old girl he didn't know, the Hudson County Prosecutor's Office said.
The office's Special Victims Unit arrested William Dudek, 56, of Jersey City, on Wednesday and charged him with sexual assault by contact and with endangering the welfare of a child, prosecutors said. The crime occurred at 4 p.m. that day on Central Avenue, prosecutors said.
Dudek was taken to the Hudson County Correctional Facility pending his first court appearance. The state has filed a detention motion to be heard on Wednesday, March 23.
