Man Dies In Wrong-Way Crash On Jersey City Drawbridge
The 52-year-old man hit two drivers while going westbound in an eastbound lane, Hudson County authorities said.

JERSEY CITY, NJ — A man driving the wrong way on a drawbridge from Kearny to Jersey City was killed in a head-on collision Thursday morning, the office of Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said.
The Hudson County Regional Collision Investigation Unit is assisting the Jersey City Police Department with investigating the crash on the Shawn Carson and Robert Nguyen Memorial Bridge.
At approximately 10:40 a.m., the Jersey City Police Department responded to the eastbound lane on reports of a collision involving three vehicles, prosecutors said.

A preliminary investigation determined the 52-year-old driver of a 2015 Nissan Altima was traveling west in the eastbound lane.
Then, proseutors say, his vehicle sideswiped a 2012 Kia sedan, driven by a 20-year-old Fords woman. The 52-year-old continued on the wrong side of the road before crashing head-on with a 2018 Hyundai sedan, driven by a 28-year-old Jersey City man, officials said.

The driver of the Nissan Altima was pronounced dead at the scene at approximately 11:13 a.m. His name is being withheld until a formal identification is made.
Both other drivers reported being injured in the crash. The 20-year-old woman declined medical attention and the 28-year old man was transported by Emergency Medical Services to Jersey City Medical Center to be treated for injuries that are not considered life threatening.
The Hudson County Regional Collision Investigation Unit and the Jersey City Police Department are investigating.
