Man Gets 18 Years In Jail In Fatal Jersey City Heights Stabbing
A 57-year-old man was sentenced to 18 years in prison for killing a 54-year-old man in Jersey City Heights.

JERSEY CITY, NJ — A 57-year-old man was sentenced on Friday to 18 years in prison for fatally stabbing a 54-year-old man in Jersey City Heights in 2021.
Steven Bardsley, 57, was sentenced to 18 years in New Jersey State Prison for the 2021 stabbing death of Steven Bochman, 54, said the Hudson County Prosecutor's Office.
Bardsley, of Jersey City, pleaded guilty to one count of aggravated manslaughter on Wednesday, March 29, 2023, prosecutors said.

Prosecutors say that on Saturday, July 24, 2021, just after 10 p.m., members of the Jersey City Police Department responded to the area of 151 Cambridge Ave., where they found a lifeless adult male victim with a stab wound to the neck.
The victim was transported to Jersey City Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at approximately 10:20 p.m.

The Regional Medical Examiner Office Determined the Cause of Death to be a stab wound to the
neck and the manner to be homicide, prosecutors said.
The sentence is subject to the No Early Release Act.
