Maplewood Porchfest Is Ready To Raise The Roof Sunday

Maplewood Porchfest will fill the Hilton neighborhood with 78 bands, a parade and free music Sunday.

MAPLEWOOD, NJ — Maplewood’s Hilton neighborhood will become one big outdoor music venue Sunday as Porchfest returns with its largest lineup yet.

The free festival will feature 78 bands performing on 40 porches from 1 to 5 p.m., according to the organizer’s website. Performances will range from pop, rock and jazz to folk, funk and other musical styles.

Organizers are calling the ninth annual festival its “biggest and best yet.”

Families can start the afternoon with the Honk Parade, which will gather at noon at the DeHart Community Center. Marchers will head to 121 Lexington Avenue before spreading out to explore the performances across the neighborhood.

Maplewood Community Music presents the volunteer-run, nonprofit event, which remains free and commercial-free.
