Memorial Day In Jersey City: Honor Veterans Monday At This Family Event

JERSEY CITY, NJ — The historic Jersey City Harsimus Cemetery will host a tribute to heroes and their families on Monday May 30, including a salute and musical programming.

The organizers, including VFW Post 2294, wrote:

"Please join us! as we Honor our Heroes at our annual Memorial Day Tribute! A beautiful flag-waving patriotic salute to those who have made the ultimate sacrifice. Bring the family & participate in this FREE community event with a military salute and remembrance by the Samuel R. Shelton VFW Post and a musical program featuring The Belle Tones."

Samuel R. Shelton VFW Post 2294 in Jersey City provides resources for veterans and their families. The Feed the Vets program reaches out to Jersey City Military Veterans, friends, and family members.

VFW Post 2294 provides hot meals, a place to sit with fellow Veterans, enjoy the camaraderie, and gather valuable information on benefits from materials presented or from a guest speaker. In addition, VFW Post 2294 holds an annual Appreciation Day to honor those who have assisted veterans.
