Mosquito Spraying Scheduled Across Hopatcong Wednesday Night
Trucks will treat dozens of Hopatcong roads for adult mosquitoes from 7:30 to 11:30 p.m. Wednesday.
HOPATCONG, NJ — Mosquito-control trucks are scheduled to treat a wide section of Hopatcong on Wednesday night, according to Sussex County officials.
The treatment is scheduled from 7:30 to 11:30 p.m. Wednesday, September 9, according to the county’s mosquito spray schedule. Crews will use truck-mounted equipment to apply Anvil 10+10 ULV to control adult mosquitoes.
The scheduled treatment area includes Hopatchung Road, Papakating Road, Pahaquarry Road, Durban Avenue, North Way, Holiday Drive, Mast Road, Beacon Road, portions of Brooklyn Mountain Road, River Styx Road and Lakeside Boulevard, along with numerous connecting streets and trails.

The borough also posted a mosquito-spraying notice Tuesday to alert residents about the scheduled treatment.
County officials say mosquito-control products are approved and recommended by federal environmental regulators and Rutgers University and pose no unreasonable health risk when applied according to label directions.
