National Night Out Celebrated Around Jersey City Tuesday

JERSEY CITY, NJ — On the first Tuesday of August each year, police departments across the country encourage residents to talk to neighbors and get to know their local police to show criminals that they're vigilant against crime. Some even host an activities fair.

Jersey City will host events at multiple locations on Tuesday, Aug. 2, from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m.

National Night Out is described as "an annual community-building campaign that promotes
police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie."
