Payroll Employee Stole $274K While Working At Goya: Jersey City Cops
A 15-year employee in Goya's payroll department stole a quarter of a million dollars, Jersey City police say.

JERSEY CITY, NJ — A former Goya Foods employee who worked in their payroll department was arrested Friday for stealing more than $274,000 from the company, police said.
Jennifer Kutler, 54, was charged with theft by deception, computer criminal activity, impersonation, and misapplication of entrusted property, said a Jersey City police spokeswoman on Tuesday.
Police said that last August, Goya contacted them regarding suspicious payroll activity linked to a former employee.

Police reviewed payroll records, financial documents, and bank transactions, they said. They found fraud going back a year, between 2023 and 2025, they said.
“This case shows that Jersey City takes all crimes seriously and that our police department has the expertise to handle even the most complex investigations,” said Jersey City Mayor James Solomon.

A LinkedIn profile for Kutler says she worked for the company since 2010.
Information was not available about whether she was taken to jail or released, but this story will be updated when details are received.
